I have a very strong interest in historical eras of clothing and fashion. My favorite period of historical fashion would probably be the Victorian Era, and the early Edwardian. The Victorian Era's penchant for over the top patterns and colors, lace, crinolines, and petticoats are things I go crazy for!! However, I do enjoy just about any kind of historical fashion. Other than the Victorian Era, I really enjoy the fashion of the 1910s and the 1930s through the early 60's. I'm also a huge fan of early 2000s-modern day niche subcultures and counter cultures, especially J-fashion. I am an IRL lifestyle lolita, and the history of lolita fashion is something I'm super passionate about. However, in the past, I've also taken a huge interest in goth and punk subcultures.
I also really, really love ecology, plants and animals, and especially marine biology. For as long as I can remember I've really wanted to go into ecology and be a field marine biologist, but that's probably not going to happen anytime soon... Even so, I am absolutely content to just spend my days hiking and pointing out cool things I see on the side of the trail :) My favorite kinds of ecosystems to learn and study about are any kind of transitional or extreme environments. Big Sur and the entirety of the Californian coast are near and dear to my heart, as well as the Mojave desert. I also love learning about the ways life survives at the bottom of the ocean. I think whale falls are just about the coolest thing ever.
Another huge interest of mine is horror in all forms. I especially love watching scary movies, and I love horror games!! I'm really into horror being used as a metaphor, as a way to explore trauma and human suffering. I am not a huge scaredy cat, but I'm not a huge fan of gore and whenever I watch scary movies and someone's getting attacked, I always have to hide my face in my wife somewhere... My top 5 favorite works of horror are Rule of Rose, Bloodborne, The Ring, Annihilation (THE BOOK) and Yume Nikki.
Last but not least, my biggest hobby I would say right now is making and designing new ocs that I make my own stories with... hence the entire setting section of this website!! I love incorporating aspects of my passion for clothing into my art and my character designs, as well as my love of horror and horror themes. I use my art and my ocs to explore concepts I think are interesting or to explore my own trauma and the bad things that happen to me, so everything I make is very very personal!! Most I don't intend to share, but I am currently working on playing D&D with my friends (which you'll probably read a little about somewhere on this site of mine...) and I'm trying to get the ball rolling on making an RPGMaker horror game!
